Phil McClure, PT, PhD, FAPTA will deliver the annual Maley Lecture "The Movement System and Diagnosis — Are We There Yet?" on July 21, 2024.

"The Movement System and Diagnosis — Are We There Yet?" looks at how The movement system was proposed as a foundational concept for physical therapist practice, education, and research. The 2015 House of Delegates position Management of the Movement System states, "APTA endorses the development of diagnostic labels and/or classification systems that reflect and contribute to the physical therapist's ability to properly and effectively manage disorders of the movement system." Nine years later, how are we doing? In this lecture, Phil McClure will offer analysis around this question and potential pathways forward for the profession.
