Therapeutic Management of Pediatric Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder: An Evidence-Based Care Guideline
Overview
This evidence-based care guideline from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital provides recommendations for therapeutic management of pediatric and adolescent joint hypermobility and hypermobility spectrum disorder, including hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. It does not address children and adolescents with more than mild hypotonia or progressive neuromuscular conditions.
The guideline includes recommendations for therapeutic exercise (see Appendix 2), caregiver education, activity modification, orthotics, outcome measures, and frequency of therapy (see Appendix 3).
