The purpose of the Honorary Membership is stipulated in the Bylaws of the American Physical Therapy Association.
Eligibility Requirements
Nominees must be an individual other than a member in any other membership category.
Criteria for Selection
Per APTA’s bylaws, nominees must be:
- An individual, other than a member in any other membership category, who has rendered outstanding service to the association or made notable contributions to the health of humanity.
Submission Requirements
The following must be submitted by a component representative.
- Nominee’s curriculum vitae or resume
- Proposed language for presentation of the nomination to APTA's House of Delegates in the form of a resolution with a preamble (see nomination form for reference)
- Supporting materials as deemed appropriate
Submit a Nomination
The nominations call for the Honors & Awards program is open from Sept. 1 to Dec. 1. Nominations must be submitted through our online platform by Dec. 1; late submissions will not be considered. Selected recipients and their nominators will be notified in May.
