There has been a lot of activity by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to provide health care providers with regulatory relief and flexibilities during the COVID-19 public health emergency. Most recently, CMS added physical therapists to the list of eligible health care professionals who can furnish and bill Medicare for services furnished via telehealth. APTA staff Kara Gainer, JD, Director of Regulatory Affairs, Alice Bell, PT, DPT, GCS, Senior Payment Specialist, Steve Postal, JD, Senior Regulatory Affairs Specialist, and Kate Gilliard, JD, Senior Regulatory Affairs Specialist, discussed what's happening in Medicare in relation to telehealth and what APTA is doing to continue to advocate on behalf of the profession. Presenters took questions live from viewers. Prior to the Facebook Live event, attendees were asked to review the Medicare Telehealth Update During COVID-19 Public Health Emergency webinar recorded on May 1, 2020.
