APTA's Campaign for Future Generations, a fundraising effort to support diversity, equity, and inclusion in the physical therapy profession, is now $100,000 stronger, thanks to the APTA Board of Directors. The recent investment from the board has helped to build excitement around the beginning of APTA's centennial year.

The Campaign for Future Generations is a two-year initiative that began in 2020. The campaign already has raised more than $400,000 from individual donations as well as from generous naming rights contributions to APTA’s new headquarters from Marilyn Moffat, PT, PhD, FAPTA, and Stanley Paris, PT, PhD, FAPTA, and Catherine Patla, PT, DPT. APTA also will donate any net proceeds from its centennial year events and activities to support the Campaign for Future Generations.

Donations received through the campaign are channeled into the APTA Physical Therapy Fund, also known as the PT Fund, which was established in 1993 and includes the Dimensions of Diversity Fund and the Minority Scholarship Fund. To date, the Minority Scholarship Fund has distributed more than $1 million in scholarships and faculty awards to 253 PT and PTA students and 18 physical therapy education faculty members.

The fundraising effort isn't limited to big donations. The PT Fund accepts gifts of all sizes, and is encouraging broad participation through a special offer to the first 10,000 people to donate at least $10 to any of the funds housed within the PT Fund: Donors' names will be featured on a Community Wall at APTA’s new headquarters.
