Proposed 2027 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule: What PTs Need to Know, Part 1

The U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services estimates that physical therapy codes could see an overall payment increase of 1-3% under the Calendar Year 2027 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule Proposed Rule. Although CMS proposes a 1.68% decrease to the conversion factor for most clinicians, including physical therapists, changes to how practice expenses are calculated would benefit the profession and other clinicians who do not participate in an Advanced Alternative Payment Model.
