The first-ever public member of the APTA's Board of Directors is now its second-ever public member: Cris Massis has been reappointed to a position created to expand the diversity of voices on the board and bring a more comprehensive perspective to APTA leadership.

A native of Victoria, Australia, Massis is CEO of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators and has extensive experience in the strategy, governance, and management of the health care sector. He also served as CEO for the Australian Physical Therapy Association for eight years, during which time the association increased member share from 40% to 60%, implemented three strategic plans, eliminated the organization’s debt, and successfully advocated for the profession on several major legislative and policy issues.
