Overview

This guideline, developed by the US Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Defense for health care professionals, describes the critical decision points in the management and rehabilitation of individuals with post-acute mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI). It is formatted as two clinical algorithms with evidence-based recommendations:

  • Module A:Initial presentation (>7 days post injury)
  • Module B:Management of symptoms persisting >7 days after mild traumatic brain injury
