APTA’s 2025 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule calculator — our popular member-only resource — is now available to help you calculate payment for services furnished on or after Jan. 1, 2025. This tool helps both participating and nonparticipating PTs determine 2025 Medicare payment. Presented as a spreadsheet, the calculator makes it easy for members to calculate their reimbursement for Medicare services.

The tool calculates payments based on the 2025 fee schedule and will be adjusted to incorporate any additional congressional funding included in upcoming legislation. Congress must introduce and pass a new spending bill in March to avoid a shutdown of the federal government, as the year-end package passed in December expires March 14. That package omitted any adjustments to the final 2025 fee schedule conversion factor, despite advocacy by APTA and other health care entities and strong bipartisan support from congressional leaders.

Get Up to Speed on Other Fee Schedule Provisions

APTA advocacy delivered two major wins in this year’s fee schedule, relaxing the outdated and burdensome PTA direct supervision requirement in outpatient settings to match the general supervision requirement in all other settings and creating an exception to plan of care certification so that the referring physician’s signature on the PT’s POC is no longer required if there is a signed and dated order or referral in the patient’s medical record.

To help you understand and comply with the new plan of care exception, APTA developed this explanation and FAQ.
