World Physiotherapy, the international association of 129 physical therapy member organizations around the world, has a new vice president who is also an APTA member. Suh-Fang Jeng, PT, ScD, representing Taiwan, was elected at WP's general meeting held in Dubai.

Jeng is chair of the WP-Asian Pacific region and is a member of the executive board of the Taiwan Physical Therapy Association, or TPTA, where she serves as treasurer. In addition to her work with WP and TPTA, Jeng is associate editor of APTA Pediatrics’ journal, Pediatric Physical Therapy, and is on the editorial board of PTJ: Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Journal, APTA's scientific journal. She is a professor in the School and Graduate Institute of Physical Therapy at National Taiwan University, where she also served as dean of the university's School of Medicine.

In addition to Jeng, other APTA members have notable roles at WP. Judith Deutsch, PT, PhD, FAPTA, chairs the WP neurology subgroup, and Sheree York, PT, DPT, chairs the organization's subgroup on pediatric physical therapy. APTA President Roger Herr, PT, MPH, served as APTA delegate at the Dubai meeting.

Another APTA connection: Michel Landry, BScPT, PhD, MBA, representing the Canadian Physical Therapy Association, was elected president of WP. Landry, who is an academic affiliate of APTA, led the coordination of APTA's online service that connected members of the physical therapy profession with facilities looking for volunteers.
