A campaign to catalogue the ways different health care providers build patient trust is continuing, and organizers are looking for input from physical therapists and physical therapist assistants.

Called "Building Trust," the initiative is sponsored by the American Board of Internal Medicine, the same group that developed the "Choosing Wisely" campaign. APTA was the first non-physician group invited to take part in that program — now ABIM is seeking direct input from APTA members.

The Building Trust website features videos on why getting involved is important, and the submission page makes it easy: simply fill out the form by describing a trust practice that you employ, how it builds trust, how you came to engage in it, and other parameters that will allow other providers to learn from your experience — and maybe even apply your insights to their own practices.

Want some examples from members? Check out these Building Trust entries on a geriatric medicine clinic and primary care physical therapy, a telerehab program, and workplace-embedded injury prevention advocacy. All three authors took part in a 2021 APTA Live event, available as a recording, to talk about their trust practices.
