APTA's collection of evidence-based practice resources is always growing and includes everything from tests and measures to full-scale clinical practice guidelines, some of which have been developed through collaborations between APTA sections and the association itself.

Resources that we added in 2024 — all free to members — include 10 clinical summaries, eight test and measure summaries, and five CPG+ resources.

New Clinical Summaries

Clinical summaries provide extensive information on the medical and physical therapist management of specific conditions.

New Test and Measure Summaries

These contain focused information about screening tools and outcome measures, including indications and recommendations from CPG authors and taskforces. They link to the test or measure when available.

  3. Functional Assessment Standardized Items, or FASI
  4. Hip Outcome Score, or HOS
  5. International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire — Urinary Incontinence, or ICIQ-UI, Short Form

  7. Star Excursion Balance Test, or SEBT, and modified SEBT, or mSEBT (updated with ankle information)

APTA’s CPG+ pages for clinical practice guidelines share a summary of CPG recommendations for clinicians, along with a formal appraisal of the CPG’s quality.
