
The Code of Ethics for the Physical Therapy Profession, effective Jan. 1, includes timeless ethical principles but also addresses contemporary guidance not previously included in the Code. The Code of Ethics replaces the previous Code of Ethics for the Physical Therapist and Standards of Ethical Conduct for the Physical Therapist Assistant. Because it is a single Code of Ethics, it is easier to address issues involving the actions of both PTs and PTAs without having to consult two documents.
