One of the benefits of integrating wellness into your practice is the opportunity to expand the discussion beyond physical activity. While the expertise of physical therapists (PTs) and physical therapist assistants (PTAs) clearly lies is in the physical aspect, there are other important aspects of health and well-being about which PTs and PTAs can get conversations flowing, helping to steer clients toward resources and/or other professionals who can help.

One quick-and-easy way to define and categorize these aspects is the "F5":

  1. Family/Friends
  2. Fuel/Fitness
  3. Field of Play
  4. Faith
  5. Finances
