Improved access and care. Broadly, these two terms describe the issues that are of highest importance to APTA members and our patients. Of course, appropriate payment for physical therapist services is essential to ensuring improved access and patient care. When the APTA Public Policy and Advocacy Committee convened to update the public policy priorities for 2023-24, we kept coming back to patients and patient care. These priorities give us a framework on where we should spend our resources — both human and financial.
