APTA supports Medicare private contracting for PTs
Some health care professionals are allowed to "opt out" of the Medicare program and privately contract with Medicare beneficiaries. PTs aren't among them. This needs to change.
Why It Matters
Medicare private contracting allows both patients and PTs more flexibility in providing care that is truly patient-centered.
Our position
APTA supports legislation that allows Medicare beneficiaries to select the health professional of their choice through private contracting.
