The American Physical Therapy Association wouldn't be marking its centennial this year without the dedication of an army of advocates over the course of its history. Their efforts have brought the needs of patients to the attention of decision-makers, resulting in direct access to the services of PTs and many other improvements in the health and well-being of every member of society in the United States.

But there's no such thing as "mission accomplished." Goals remain, and new challenges keep arising. Today's advocates are as committed as were their forebears to addressing and overcoming obstacles that impede consumers' ability to get the physical therapy they need. The following profiles spotlight a few of the many PTs and PTAs who continue the fight.
